RESEARCH SCIENTIST POSITION
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Research Scientist at the Landau-Levi Lab. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in the field of cardiovascular disease modeling using organ-on-a-chip (OoC) platforms. As a member of our team, you will have the chance to contribute to the development of innovative in vitro models for studying human heart function in health and disease states.

What You'll Do
- As a Research Scientist at Landau-Levi Lab, you will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to advance our understanding of human cardiac physiology and pathology. You will play a key role in developing and optimizing organ-on-a-chip systems, utilizing stem cell technology, bioinformatics analysis, and biosensor design. Your work will contribute to the modeling of disease states, identification of new molecular targets, and advancements in drug screening and bioengineered tissue generation.
- This role will also involve investigating sex-related disparities in cardiovascular health, focusing on cardiac-placental OoC models to study conditions such as peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM). You will have the opportunity to dissect the roles of immune cells and sex differences in cardiovascular pathologies, translating research findings into potential treatments.
Who You are
- The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field, with a strong background in mechanobiology, tissue engineering, and stem cell bioengineering. Experience in microphysiological systems and vascularized tissue modeling is highly desirable. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for interdisciplinary research.
